Let’s spare a thought for those in Queensland, Australia who are being subjected to the increasingly devastating floods, including a huge flash flood. Eight people are dead and many are still missing after a dramatic escalation of the unfolding disaster. Queensland’s Disaster Co-ordinator Ian Stewart has said the death toll would almost certainly rise, with 72 people still missing.
A flash flood has swept through the town of Toowoomba, sweeping away cars and other debris in a raging torrent. If you are in any doubt as to the severity of the floods, check out the dramatic, embedded YouTube videos from people on the ground in Toowoomba. Wow!
In the city of Brisbane, residents in some low lying areas are now being warned to prepare for flooding tomorrow, as the water that hit Toowoomba and nearby areas is making its way into the Brisbane River.
