Here’s an example of what not to do as a category 5 cyclone approaches the coast. This video was shot at Airlie Beach in Queensland, some hours before Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasi made landfall at around midnight.

To be heard in the background is someone yelling “Get outta there ya goose!”.

We’ve all done foolish things at times I’m sure. At least it didn’t end badly. Shall we put this down to relieving a bit of stress at a stressful time? Thankfully, no lose of life or serious injuries have be reported yet, as the powerful storm continues to track inland and weaken.
