Amazing Video: What An Astronaut Sees Of Earth From Space

Namib desert – NASA

Here we have a beautiful video showing what an astronaut sees as a spacecraft orbits the Earth, courtesy of digital cameras carried by astronauts themselves.

Throughout the seven minute video, Dr. Justin Wilkinson from the NASA astronaut team points out some of their favorite spots on Earth’s landscape below.

The breathtaking journey includes sights such as: the sand dunes of the Namib Desert, the boot of Italy, the Kamchatka Peninsula, the Qindoa Peninsula in China, the Zagros mountains in Iran, the north coast of Australia with the gulf of Carpenteria, a huge hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean, the Great Salt Lake in Utah, Florida, Cuba, and the Andes Mountains.

What a privilege it must be to be able to see these awe-inspiring sights in real life. Luckily, we are able to enjoy them too, in video form.
