I thought this might be a hoax, but apparently not. Look, I’m all for getting more sleep to stay healthy, because let’s face it, most people don’t get enough sleep these days. It’s a serious issue. But this is getting a bit ridiculous. I mean, there may be fashion limits to the sleep endeavor. Or are there? Everyone, meet the Ostrich Pillow.
According to the Kickstarter page for Ostrich Pillow, it “offers a micro environment in which to take a comfortable power nap in the office, travelling or wherever you want”. Â You just slip it on your head and away you go, off to dreamland, or just to relax for a while in isolation.
I don’t mean to be unkind, really I don’t, but seriously, would you wear this thing in public? When trying to get to sleep, say in an airport, I think I’d feel a little (well a lot) too self-conscious that people may be pointing and laughing at me for looking like an alien from another solar system, which they probably would!
But hey, if you think it’s great and it should go into production, prove me wrong and give it some cash on Kickstarter. It has already raised nearly $20,000 so far, with 28 days to go, so the Ostrich Pillow may just prove me wrong.
At least people are attempting to come up with innovative design ideas. Always love to see that. Good luck to them.
