Climate change activists from Last Generation (Letzte Generation) in Germany have thrown mashed potato at Monet’s ‘Les Meules’ to draw attention to the climate crisis. The painting was behind glass, so no damage was caused to it. The two activists also glued themselves to Potsdam’s Museum Barberini wall near the artwork. One of the activists shouted, ‘We are in a climate catastrophe and all you are afraid of is tomato soup or mashed potatoes on a painting’.
