This is Part 4 of Tony Seba’s latest presentation on what he calls The Great Transformatioon. This part is about the coming disruption of food and agriculture by precision fermentation proteins, and it has already started.
Tony predicts that the cost per kilo of precision fermentation proteins will reach price parity with animal proteins by about 2025, and that will be the disruption point. Seba says that this is not a veggie revolution though, it’s the second domestication of plants and animals. The first was of large animals such as the cow, the sheep, the horse, the chicken; now it’s changing to the domestication of microorganisms as a source of food. It’s been happening over the past 10 to 20 years.
